They say Cape Town’s weather is like a baby.. it’s either wet or it has winds. Four day at Batis and Bass bore testament to that BUT that did not bother us at all. We were so caught up in the splendor of this place, that the weather did not matter. The owner, Plum, and his daughters were the epitome of hospitality and helpfulness. They not only allowed us to enjoy their place, they also allowed us the space to do so. They were there when we needed them even though they were very mindful about our privacy.

Defnitief my tipe kampplek … pragtige natuurskoon en dit voel vêr uit die beskawing om lekker te kan ontspan. Ons het slegs 1 uit die 4 dae mooi weer gehad, maar selfs dit het nie gepla nie, want daar is oorgenoeg hout om ‘n gesellige vuurtjie aan die gang te hou. Plum het ook totaal uit sy pad uit gegaan toe een van ons ‘n probleem met sy treiler gekry het; weereens groot waardering!
Ons het in Desember 2019 vir ‘n paar dae hier gekamp. Die kampterrein was onverbeterlik en baie goed versorg. Ek het ‘n probleem met my kampwa se A-raam-trekstang gehad en ten spyte van die feit dat dit hoogseisoen en vakansietyd was, het Plum, die eienaar, uit sy pad gegaan om toe te sien dat die wa herstel word sommer daar langs die rivier. Ek het werklik méér as net ‘n mooi kampterrein en natuurskoon langs die rivier beleef – ek het ook ‘n medemenslikheid ervaar wat tipies aan die platteland is. Hoogs aan te beveel! Baie dankie, Plum! Hoop ons sien weer vorentoe.
Ons het baie lekker by julle gekuier. Dis ‘n besonderse plek wat julle daar langs die rivier het.
Thanks for opening your camp site up to us for this weekend. We really loved the spot and the little ones had an absolute blast! The plan is to most certainly return.

We are discussing how we can become permanent squatters here… this place is amazing thank you. Our doggie has had the time of his life here. This is our new favorite spot, it is heavenly. Thanks for an amazing stay! The lush lawn invited many fun ball games with the kids and adults alike. The gorgeous shower and ablutions made us really feel like we were in nature without sacrificing the luxuries of the city. The beautiful wind breaker wall kept us safe from the wind which we could hear but not really feel. The use of the canoes provided hours of laughter and fun on the river and the exclusivity made us feel like we were the only ones on earth! We loved the privacy. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for your hospitality. We don’t want anyone else to know about it. LOL

What an amazing camp site!! Thank you Plum. Exclusivity, electricity, shallow river for younger children, dog friendly, drinkable water, grass, shade, “kuier” firewood to last for days… a fabulous spot. Will definitely be planning our next trip.

– Check in time from 14h00 ; Check out time 10h00 (except Sundays 17h00).
– Batis & Bass River Camp owners will not be held responsible for any death, injury, loss, or damage of any kind suffered by any person while occupying the site.
– Persons occupying the River Camp may not exceed the number of persons indicated upon booking.
– Please leave the camp site reasonable tidy and clean after use.
– The use or sale of any illegal substance on the property is not permissible.
– We reserve the right to eject a guest/guests from the camp site if they are not conducting themselves in an appropriate and / or acceptable manner.
– We will not be held liable for any loss, theft or damage of any personal belongings, cash, jewelery and or motor vehicles, however caused, during your stay at the camp site.
– We will not be held responsible or accept any liability or issue any refunds, for occurrences resulting in loss of occupancy or personal injury caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as; exceptional weather conditions, flooding etc.
– We reserve the right to decline accommodation to, or expel, any visitor for conduct, which, in our sole view, is inappropriate to the property, or to the comfort of any other visitor’s.
– In the unlikely event that we are unable to honor a booking, we will offer the camp site on an alternative, agreed date.
– Whilst representations, both verbal and visual are made in good faith, they are only intended to give general guidance as to the character of the accommodation, they do not form part of any agreement with the camp site.
– You are responsible for your own safety and well-being while in at the camp site. Liability will not be accepted for any injuries sustained on the premises.
– We will not be held responsible or accept any liability for injury to children, or their well-being while in at the camp site.
– You are responsible for the security of your belongings.
