Terms & Conditions

Check-in and check-out time

Check-in time is from 2pm onwards.
Daily check-out time is before 10am except for Sundays, which is 5pm.

Maximum number of occupants

The number of people occupying Batis and Bass River Camp may not exceed the number of persons indicated upon booking.

Dogs

You are only allowed to bring your dog along if it is not aggressive and will not attempt to hunt the resident otters or any other wildlife at our campsite. Your dog is not permitted to roam around freely and must be kept at your booked campsite at all times. 

Prohibited substances

Using or selling any illegal substance on the property is not permissible.

Right of expulsion

We reserve the right to expel a camper or campers from the campsite if they conduct themselves inappropriately and/or in an unacceptable manner. We have the sole discretion as to what is considered inappropriate and/or unacceptable.

Right to decline

We reserve the right to decline accommodation to any camper who, in our sole discretion, is inappropriate for the property or the comfort of other campers.

No liability

You are responsible for the safety and well-being of yourself and all who accompany you while at the campsite. Batis and Bass River Camp, its owners, and employees will not be held responsible or accept any liability for any death, injury, loss or damage of any kind suffered by anyone, including children and pets, while you are at the campsite or on the farm.

You are responsible for the security of your belongings. We will not be liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings, cash, jewellery, tents, and/or motor vehicles during your stay at the campsite, regardless of the cause.

We will not issue refunds for occurrences resulting in loss of occupancy caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as exceptional weather conditions, flooding, etc.

Character of campsite

Although the verbal and visual representations are provided in good faith, they are solely meant to offer general guidance regarding the campsites’ nature. They do not constitute any part of an agreement between Batis and Bass River Camp and campers.

Tranquillity

Overall, camping here offers an environment of tranquillity. Batis & Bass River Camp is situated on a working farm, so you may occasionally hear farm vehicles and farmhands in the distance. 

Weather

We do not charge extra for sunshine, so there will be no refunds for rain or any other unfavourable weather conditions.

Honouring booking

In the unlikely event that we are unable to honour a booking, we will offer the campsite on an alternative, agreed date.

Fishing Policy

We have a catch-and-release fishing policy for all fish caught in the Breede River. 

Your undertaking

You undertake to leave the campsite reasonably tidy and clean after use.

Acknowledgement

By booking a date for our campsite, you acknowledge your complete agreement to all our terms and conditions.
